Mailcoach lets you choose which email editor you want to compose your email campaigns in depending on your needs, skills, and preferences. You can choose between Markdown, HTML or a visual editor.
Markdown is a lightweight formatting language that uses plain text. It’s popular for its simplicity and ease of use, emphasizing text readability without any distracting formatting. While Markdown may require some technical familiarity at first, it quickly becomes intuitive once you get the hang of it.
If you want to have a full control over the email design and layout, you may choose the HTML editor. HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language and gives you control over the layout, colours and styles of your email campaign to align with your brand. Using the HTML editor will require some knowledge (or the willingness to learn) of HTML, but it will give you the most flexibility when it comes to the design of your emails.
However, you may not want to have this detailed control, you may just want to write in an editor that hides all complexity. In this case, the visual editor might just be what you are looking for. Mailcoach comes with Editor.js, a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor and you won’t need any technical knowledge to use it, you can simply focus on writing content.
You can also use the Drag & Drop visual editor, which allows you to edit HTML in a structured way without the need for any HTML knowledge. This editor is powered by Unlayer and you will need to have a paid account with Unlayer to be able to use it.
The editor you choose for writing emails—Markdown, HTML, or the visual editor—can make a difference in how you design and write your emails. Experiment with different editors to find what works best for you.
